Changing The Rules Ft. Kate Brodock

“Changing the rules” is the phrase bolded on W Fund’s website. And Kate Brodock, a general partner at the venture capital firm, does exactly that.

Brodock, in both her role as general partner at W Fund and as the CEO of SWITCH, formerly Women 2.0, is at the forefront of an ongoing endeavor to increase representation in the tech industry.

By investing in outstanding tech startups with underrepresented leaders, sparking tough conversations about gender and race inequality in the ecosystem, and using almost two decades worth of experience to inspire and uplift women, she’s created space for passionate individuals to reach their full potential.

Brodock doesn’t stop. She’s an entrepreneur in residence at Techstars and at Emory University, where she also holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the Goizueta Business School. She’s held prior roles as Chief Marketing Officer of untapt, an AI-driven tech talent marketplace based in NYC; as CEO of Girls in Tech, and as an Adjunct Professor of PR and Marketing at Syracuse University. And that’s just to name a few.

She’s also spoken at and been featured in a plethora of events and reputable media outlets, including but not limited to: SXSW, Collision Conference, Fast Company, Rally, TED, Fifteen Seconds, MSNBC, BBC and Al Jazeera

Brodock balances her professional life with what she describes as her “very non-professional” life. She likes to ski, hike, sail and enjoy craft beer with good friends. She lives on a hops farm in Cazenovia with her husband and two boys, and appreciates the joy and hilariousness of life.

Kate has taught, mentored, and held numerous leadership positions aimed at uplifting women and “changing the rules” in the tech industry – and she’s done so while beating the same odds that she motivates and enables other women to conquer.

We are pleased to announce that Kate Brodock will be joining the lineup of incredible speakers at the 2024 CNY Women’s Summit on March 8.
